Too Maatou Kura
Our Vission Statement
Te Whakakitenga
Ka whiti te raa ki tua o Rehua,
ka ara a Kaiwhare i te rua
As long as the sun shines from the east coast to the west
Ngaati Te Ata will rise from the depths of the Manukau
Our vision is all about the strength of Ngaati Te Ata and our hononga to the whenua and our tupuna. Just like the sun keeps rising, so will we, staying strong and proud. This vision, alongside the principles of Te Aho Matua, guides our kura in nurturing tamariki to grow with a strong sense of identity, connected to their whakapapa, and prepared to thrive in te ao hurihuri.

Our Mission Statement
Te Kaupapa Mataamua
Taawharautia te ao ako a te tamaiti ki ngaa awe
o Ngaati Te Ata ka ara ki runga raa
Teaching and learning of our children will
be cloaked with the feathers of Ngaati Te Ata
Our mission is to ensure that the teaching and learning of our tamariki are wrapped in the values and traditions of Ngaati Te Ata. Like a protective cloak, these principles guide everything we do at our kura, helping our tamariki grow strong, and grounded in their own whakapapa

Our Philosophy
Te Aho Matua
Te Aho Matua
At our kura, we follow the principles of Te Aho Matua, which guide how we nurture the learning and development of our tamariki. These principles not only shape the education provided within the kura but also emphasize the importance of reinforcing these values at home. We expect maatua to support and implement the teachings of Te Aho Matua in their daily lives, ensuring that the holistic growth of our tamariki—physically, mentally, and spiritually—is upheld both at kura and in the whaanau environment.
What is Te Aho Matua?
Te Aho Matua is the guiding philosophy for many kura kaupapa Maaori, focusing on the holistic development of tamariki through Te Reo Maaori, tikanga, and Maatauranga Maaori. It promotes a strong partnership between kura and whaanau to support the growth and well-being of our tamariki in both te ao maaori and te ao whaanui.
Te Aho Matua consists of six main principles: Te Ira Tangata , Te Reo, Ngaa Iwi, Te Ao, Aahuatanga Ako, and Ngaa Tino Uaratanga, all of which guide the educational approach and practices in our kura.
